World Hindi Day: 2021
Beginning of World Hindi Day:
• Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared this date every year as World Hindi Day on January 10, 2006.
• On this occasion, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs celebrated World Hindi Day for the first time on 10 January 2006 in Indian embassies.
World Hindi Conference:
• With the aim of developing and spreading the Hindi language, an international conference of World Hindi Conferences is held in which Hindi scholars, litterateurs, journalists, linguists, subject experts and Hindi lovers gather from all over the world.
• The first International Hindi Conference was organized in the year 1975 on the initiative of Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi.
• Till now 12 World Hindi Conferences have been held
Objective :
• To create awareness for the promotion and propagation of Hindi language by presenting it as a world language.
• Since then, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs celebrated World Hindi Day abroad for the first time on 10 January 2006.
